40- foot ocean capable vessel, specifically designed for commercial duty
by Spencer Lincoln and built in 1987 by Covey Island Boatworks Ltd. of
Petite Riviere, Nova Scotia and presently under re-construction at the boat
yard of Nova Trawler Company in Shelburne, Nova Scotia.
For more on the original builder go to the web site www.coveyisland.com.
Misty Girl was designed for offshore sea duty and built to commercial scantlings.
She was used for fishing the Atlantic Ocean off the shores of Nova Scotia.

She is a big boat for a 40 footer, her size and design offers a good platform
for conversion to a pleasure vessel for a family interested in a live aboard
lifestyle, be it the Caribbean or around the world.
She has a full displacement hull and a drive train designed for long range and
efficient cruising. (commercial rated engine, high ratio reduction gear,
large bronze propeller).

effective means that removes the “uneasy” rolling motion of the boat.
You get a smoother and more enjoyable ride. Robert Beebe’s in his
epic voyage around the world on board “Passagemaker” had the same setup.
For a detailed look at his boat and overview of his trip, look up an
older issue of Passagemaker Magazine spring issue of 1997.
Picture below “Misty Girl” has been stripped of deck gear and made
ready for transport to the boatyard.
“Misty Girl” is a three-cabin design. The forward cabin has three
fishermen style bunks, table, counter and sink. The wheelhouse will
have centerline steering, galley, settee and dining table.
The master cabin has a walk around queen bed, shower stall on port side,
